Filing secured digital tax returns (entrepreneurs)

You must always sign tax returns that you file using a software package with a digital certificate, the PKIoverheid services server certificate. Signing tax returns filed via the Tax and Customs Administration's Internet site.

You do not need a digital certificate to sign tax returns filed via the secured section of the Internet site. You sign these tax returns with your user name and password.

If you file your tax return via Mijn Belastingdienst, you sign with your DigiD (only available in Dutch).

What can you do about security?

We recommend that you install a high-quality, up-to-date virus scanner and a firewall on computers you use to file tax returns via the Internet.
Contact your software supplier or Internet provider for more information. And always keep passwords and DigiD private.
