AEO: Cooperation with other organisations

Customs cooperates with other organisations in connection with an application for an AEO-S authorisation. We also cooperate with these organisations for monitoring purposes.

Cooperation with the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (Koninklijke Marechaussee)

Are you applying for an AEO status from Customs and the Regulated Agent or Known Consignor status from the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee at the same time? In this case we will consult you about handling your application as efficiently as possible. If so required, a joint investigation will be conducted.

We also work in close cooperation with the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee with regard to the supervision of the AEO authorisations granted. We assess whether the status granted is still up to date. If you have recently been visited by the other supervisory authority, the emphasis will be on checking the deviating requirements.

Cooperation with the Dutch Controlling Authority for Milk and Dairy Products, COKZ

When assessing recognition by the COKZ a number of points are examined which are also important for an AEO-S authorisation. These are particularly the parts that focus on the goods flow and food safety. Cooperation with the COKZ also serves to reduce the amount of inspections your organisation needs to conduct.

Cooperation in case of serious shortcomings

If we establish serious shortcomings, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, the COKZ and Customs will notify each other.
