Explanation of references to letters in columns for EORI and for name, address, place of residence

(a)

Mandatory if a person other than the person lodging the summary declaration is concerned.

(b)

In case of sea, inland waterway, or airway transport the EORI number or the third country unique identification number granted within the framework of a mutual recognition agreement, of the carrier shall be provided.
For the other transport modalities; the EORI number or the third country unique identification number shall be provided whenever this number is available to the person lodging the ENS/SAL.  If not available, the full name and the address of the carrier shall be provided.

(c)

Provide if the person lodging the summary declaration does not have the EORI number.

(d)

In situations in the following cases, the EORI number of the carrier needs to be provided to facilitate electronic notification:

  • Article 183, paragraph 6 CCIP (ENS registration notification)
  • Article 183, paragraph 8 CCIP (ENS registration changes notification)
  • Article 184(5), paragraph 2 CCIP (no-load notification)

(e)

This box should be completed if the goods are transported while covered by a transferable bill of lading ‘to order blank endorsed’.  State code 10600 (=details consignee unknown) in the consignee box in this case.

(f)

At this moment, only name, address and city can be entered in DSU. It is not yet possible yet to enter an EORI number. As DSU (Douane Sagitta Uitvoer ) will be replaced in due course, this will not be possible until the new declaration system is operational.

(g)

EORI number mandatory, unless private person (if private person, please state name, address and city or state NL and the Citizen Service Number (BSN number).

(h)

Only if a private person. State name, address and city or state NL and the Citizen Service Number (BSN number).

(i)

This is mandatory if:

  • agricultural goods are exported claiming refund
  • the safety & security details of Annex 30 a CCIP have to be included in the export declaration (see the column Exit Summary Declaration

(j)

In case of a diversion request, the person lodging the diversion request must have an EORI number upon entry.

(k)

According to current legislation (Annex VI Algemene douaneregeling), it is sufficient to state the name, address and place of residence. This box does not need to be completed further if the consignee is not established in the EU or in an EFTA country. It will be mandatory from 01/01/2013 onwards to provide an EORI number if the consignee is established in the EU. It is advisable to start providing the consignee’s EORI number prior to this change.
