Do you want to submit a foreign account number for receiving a refund or benefit? Please read the following information.

  • refunds of healthcare insurance contribution

How to submit an account number that is in your name?

If you have DigiD, then use Mijn Belastingdienst and Mijn toeslagen (both platforms are only available in Dutch) to submit an account number from a SEPA country. If you don't have DigiD or an account number from a SEPA country, you should send us a letter. How you should do this, is explained below.

Please note!

It may require up to 3 weeks before we can use your new account number. Do you want us to stop payments into your old account number earlier?

  • If you plan to submit your new account number via Mijn toeslagen, simply indicate your wish in the process.
  • If you plan to submit your new account number any other way, please call the Tax Information Line immediately after submitting your new account number.

Sending a letter with an account number that is in your name

If you send us a letter with an account number for benefits, income tax refunds and healthcare insurance contribution refunds, we will check whether the account number is in your name. For that purpose, we will need the following details:

  • your name
  • your address, postcode and town, country
  • your citizen service number/tax and social insurance number
  • the tax(es) or benefit(s) for which you want to use this account number
  • a copy of a valid identity document (passport or identity card)
  • a bank statement or print-out from your internet banking environment, or the bank's confirmation of your application for this account number (no more than 2 months old)
  • your new account number
  • BIC code
    Does your bank not have an IBAN and BIC number? In that case give the full foreign bank account number (including the bank codes).
  • name, town and country of the bank
  • your signature

Are you submitting an account number for other refunds?

Your letter must contain the following details:

  • your name
  • your address, postcode and town, country
  • your citizen service number
  • the tax(es) for which you want to use this account number
  • the new account number
  • name of the account holder
  • BIC code
  • name, town and country of the bank
  • your signature

Submitting a foreign account number for entrepreneurs

If you are a foreign entrepreneur, please read the information about how to submit an account number for refunds regarding non-personal taxes. Non-personal taxes are:

  • VAT
  • motor vehicle tax
  • payroll taxes
  • other taxes (corporation tax, Eurovignette, national waters pollution levy)

Submitting digitally

Is your company established in 1 of the SEPA countries? Log in to the secure part for entrepreneurs (only available in Dutch) using your user name and password (only available in Dutch).

Are you unable to log in? Or don't you have a SEPA country account number?

Send us a letter with the account number.

What information should you include in your letter?

This depends on the country of establishment of your company. If it is a SEPA country, your letter must include the following details:

  • RSIN
  • sub-number of your company if available
  • type of tax (e.g. VAT) for which you are submitting the account number
  • account number
  • name of the account holder
  • your signature

Is your company established in a non-SEPA country? Supplement the above 6 details with:

  • address of the account holder
  • country of the bank
  • BIC code
    If you have no BIC code, you should state the full account number with bank codes.
  • name of the bank
  • town/city of the bank
