Scams and fake messages
Criminals sometimes pretend to be the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst). They send fake emails, messages, letters or apps to get your personal data or money. This is called phishing.
We never:
- ask you to transfer money by clicking a link
- ask for your personal details (such as your BSN or bank account) by email, SMS or WhatsApp
- send messages about payment problems through WhatsApp or email
Do not click on any links. Do not reply. Do not open attachments.
If you receive a suspicious message, do not interact with it in any way. Clicking on a link or opening an attachment can leave your personal data vulnerable.
You can help us by reporting the message.
