Report a suspicious email

Have you received a suspicious email from someone claiming to be the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst)? It may be an attempt at phishing.

Do not click on any links or open any attachments

We never ask for payments or personal details in an email.

How to report a suspicious email

1. Forward the email

   Forward the email to valse-email@belastingdienst.nl(Use this email address only for this purpose. Do not use it for tax-related questions.)

2. If possible, include the email headers

   The headers show the sender, subject and other technical details.

3. Do not reply to the message

   Delete the email after you have reported it to us.

What happens after you report the email?

• You will receive a confirmation that your message has been received.
• We will investigate and take action if needed.
• Because we receive many reports, we cannot respond personally.
