You can authorise someone or become an authorised representative to manage tax affairs. Select your situation below:
-
Authorise someone
Authorisation for sole proprietorships and self-employed persons
As a sole proprietorship or self-employed person, you can authorise someone with DigiD (only available in Dutch) to manage tax affairs for you. You must clearly indicate for which tax affairs you are authorising someone.
Authorisation for businesses
As a business, you can authorise others in or outside of your business with eHerkenning. Ask your supplier on the best way to arrange this.
-
Becoming an authorised representative
Becoming an authorised representative for a sole proprietorship or self-employed person
You can use DigiD to become authorised to manage tax affairs for a sole proprietorship or self-employed person. You must clearly indicate for which tax affairs you want to be authorised.
Becoming an authorised representative as a tax service provider
You can use eHerkenning to become authorised to manage tax affairs as a tax service provider for clients. Your supplier can advise you on how to do this.
Problems logging in
Do you have problems logging in to Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk? Find out what to do below:
-
Is your access denied or are you unable to reach the page?
When access is denied or you are unable to reach the page, you can check the error reports ('verstoringsberichten') or try the following actions:
-
Check if your internet connection is working.
-
Refresh the page in your web browser.
-
Partially or fully delete the browsing data in your web browser. For example, cookies, download data and the cache.
To do this, go to the settings and select the data you want to delete. Then, close and restart the browser. -
Set your web browser so that you can browse anonymously.
This ensures that your browser stores as little browsing data as possible. Different browsers use different terms for anonymous browsing. For example, ‘InPrivate browsing’, ‘incognito mode’ and ‘private window’. -
Make sure that your web browser and operating system are up to date.
-
See if you can log in to Mijn Belastingdienst, Mijn Toeslagen or Mijn Douane.
-
Try a different web browser.
If you are using a PC or laptop, we recommend Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari.
Are you using a smartphone or tablet? If so, we recommend Mobile Safari (iOS), Mobile Chrome (iOS and Android) or Samsung Browser (Android). -
Try a different device and follow all the steps in this list on that device where necessary.
-
-
Did you forget your login data for DigiD
If you forgot your login data for DigiD, you need to apply for it again on digid.nl.
-
Did you forget your login data for eHerkenning?
If you forgot your login data for eHerkenning, you need to contact your supplier. They are the first point of contact.
-
Do you receive the message ‘niet gemachtigd’?
If you receive the message ‘niet gemachtigd’ (not authorised), this is what you can do:
- Do you have a sole proprietorship or are you self-employed? If you set up an authorisation via DigiD Machtigen, you can check the authorisation on machtigen.digid.nl via ‘Mijn machtigingen’.
- Have you set up a chain authorisation via eHerkenning? And are you receiving a message on Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk stating that you are not authorised for a particular tax return, even though you have eHerkenning with at least assurance level 3 (EH3)? If so, it may be that you did not previously select the correct services for eHerkenning. In that case, log in again via your supplier and select the correct services.
If you still receive a message stating that you are not authorised, contact the administrator responsible for your login tool within your company or organisation.
More information about logging in for different roles
For certain legal forms and roles, you will find more information about the use of a login tool below.
-
Sole proprietorship
Do you have a sole proprietorship? If so, you submit your VAT returns via Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk by logging in with DigiD. The VAT returns are linked to your personal DigiD and are automatically linked to your sole proprietorship.
Do you use an intermediary (such as an accountant) to submit your returns on your behalf? In that case, the intermediary will arrange the necessary authorisation. If you log in yourself using DigiD, you will only see the returns for your own sole proprietorship.
Are you an entrepreneur with a sole proprietorship who does not have DigiD or eHerkenning, but does have a recognised European login tool? In some cases, you can log in using European Login. This applies mainly to business owners who live in another EU country or have their digital identity there. With European Login, you can access Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk for your sole proprietorship, provided your European Login tool meets the required assurance level. -
Business or organisation
Does your business have a legal form such as a general partnership (VOF), public limited company (NV), private limited company (BV) or limited partnership (CV)? If so, your VAT returns will only be available in Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk if you are logged in using eHerkenning. You will not see your VAT returns if you are logged in using DigiD.
-
Tax entity for corporation tax (vennootschapsbelasting)
Tax entities for corporation tax (vennootschapsbelasting) may apply for eHerkenning with assurance level 3 (EH3) or higher using the parent company’s RSIN. In the corporation tax return, you can indicate for the parent company whether a subsidiary has been added or removed.
-
Tax entity for VAT
The eHerkenning must have assurance level 3 (EH3) or higher. The company then authorises an employee to submit VAT returns. To do so, the employee must be authorised for the ‘Omzetbelasting voor Fiscale Eenheden’ service (VAT for Tax Entities) and log in to Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk. The application process may vary depending on the eHerkenning supplier.
-
Intermediary
Do you file VAT returns for another business or organisation as an intermediary? If so, you must log in with eHerkenning. This requires a DigiD authorisation (for sole proprietorships) or a chain authorisation for another business.
-
Court-appointed administrator or curator
If you have been appointed by a court as a private administrator, you can file tax returns using DigiD. To do so, you must be registered as an administrator by the court and qualified to handle tax affairs.
If you have been appointed by the court as a professional administrator or curator, you can submit tax returns using eHerkenning, which must be applied for using the company’s Dutch Chamber of Commerce number (KvK-nummer) and with the correct authorisation. If you log in using the wrong login method, the tax return will not be displayed. -
As someone helping
Are you helping another business with filing tax returns without being a formal intermediary, court-appointed administrator or curator? In that case, you can only file tax returns if you have a DigiD authorisation. You can then log in using your own DigiD.
Are you helping a business to file tax returns and do you live outside the Netherlands, or do you have European login? And are you not a formal intermediary, court-appointed administrator or liquidator? In that case, you can only file the returns if you have a DigiD authorisation. You can then log in using European Login. -
As a surviving dependant
Are you filing tax returns as a surviving dependant who runs a sole proprietorship? In that case, you can file tax returns on behalf of the deceased or the estate. This requires a valid surviving dependant’s authorisation (nabestaandemachtiging). If, for example, you are filing the deceased’s final income tax return, you must log in using your own DigiD.
If you are filing tax returns as a surviving dependant with an organisation acting on behalf of another business, you must log in using eHerkenning. This requires a valid surviving dependant’s authorisation (nabestaandemachtiging). -
Mutual fund
You must apply for eHerkenning without KVK number, and you can only log in at the Tax Administration of the Netherlands (Belastingdienst).
-
Solar panel owner (private individual) for VAT returns relating to solar panels
As a private solar panel owner, you are not considered a business owner for income tax purposes and cannot register with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK). However, you may be considered a business owner for VAT purposes (only available in Dutch), as you receive payment for the electricity you feed back to your energy supplier.
Have you registered as an entrepreneur for VAT purposes and do you need to submit VAT returns? For your first return, you may receive a one-off paper return by post. This depends on when your business was registered. From the second return onwards, you can submit your VAT returns via Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk. Select ‘eenmanszaak’ (sole proprietorship) and log in using DigiD.
-
Solar panel owner acting on behalf of an owners’ association or a business for the purpose of VAT returns for solar panels
As a solar panel owner, you must submit VAT returns because you feed energy back into the power grid. You can then submit VAT returns via Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk. Select ‘Bedrijf of organisatie’ (Business or organisation) and log in using eHerkenning.
