Can I redistribute my Box 3 income with my tax partner?

Can I redistribute my Box 3 income with my tax partner?

Did you fill in the form 'Opgaaf werkelijk rendement' (Submit Actual Return)? And did you file a tax return with a tax partner for 1 or more tax years? You may want to redistribute your assets and deductible items because it could be more beneficial to you. When calculating your actual return, we assume the distribution you previously made in your tax return.

You can report a new distribution of your Box 3 income in Mijn Belastingdienst or by letter

You can make a different distribution in your income tax return and send it to us. To do so, log in to Mijn Belastingdienst. Click on ‘Inkomstenbelasting’ (Income Tax Return) and choose the tax year. Open the tax return you submitted and go to the ‘Verdelen’ (Distribute) section. There, you can change the distribution of your Box 3 income at ‘Grondslag voordeel uit sparen en beleggen’ (Basis for Income from Savings and Investments). At ‘Verdelen’, you can also redistribute other joint income or deductible items.

You can also send a letter with the new distribution to your own tax office (only available in Dutch).

For the years 2019 up to and including 2024, you can change the distribution in the income tax return you submitted in Mijn Belastingdienst. For 2017 or 2018, you can only do so by letter.

Report a new distribution on time

You can only make a new distribution if you do so within 6 weeks after the date of your final assessment or your tax partner’s final assessment
