Why are the Tax Administration and the Benefits Office switching to a new bank?

The Tax Administration (Belastingdienst) and the Benefits Office (Dienst Toeslagen) must renew their payment services every few years. This is required by law.

For this reason, the Ministry of Finance organised a public tender.

The result is that Rabobank will handle the payment services for the Tax Administration and the Benefits Office from 1 May 2026.
