How to inform us about your change of address?

Usually you don't have to pass this on to us. We will automatically receive your new address if you inform your municipality. Is your organisation relocating? If so, please inform the Chamber of Commerce.

If you move abroad or come to live in the Netherlands, you must also inform the municipality. You do not have to pass anything on to us.

Sometimes you do have to report a change.

Choose your situation and see how you do it:

  • I am receiving mail at an address other than my home or business address, or would like to do so from now on
    Would you like to receive our mail at an address other than your home or business address? Would you like to provide us with a different postal address? Or would you like to change your postal address back to your home address or 'business address'? That is possible.

    Whether it's your private address or your business address - send us a letter.

    Put the following in the letter:

    • your name
    • in the case of a business address, the name of the organisation
    • your citizen service number (BSN)
    • your former address
      Please indicate whether this is your home address/branch address or your postal address.
    • your new address
      Please indicate whether this is your home address/branch address or your postal address.

    Please send your letter to:

    Within 5 working days we will process your change of address - sometimes you have to confirm it.

    Is your new address a postal address? Then you will receive a letter at the address we now have from you. We will then ask you to confirm the postal address. This way we can be sure that it is you who have changed the address.

    Is the new address your home address? Then we simply process it. You will not receive a letter and do not have to confirm anything.

  • I live outside the Netherlands and I am moving outside the Netherlands
    You do not live in the Netherlands, you are moving and you continue to live outside the Netherlands?

    If so, you can report your change of address using the form ‘Notification change of address outside the Netherlands’.

    Fill in the form, print it out, sign it and send it to us. The address is stated on the form.

    As soon as we have received your notification, it will take another 3 weeks to process.

  • I am the contact person regarding a death
    If you are planning to move, please call us a few working days after you have notified your local municipality of your move. And give us your new address free of charge via the Tax Information Line for next of kin at 0800 - 235 83 54.

    You can call us from Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. And on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Have your own BSN and that of the deceased at hand when you call.

    Would you like to pass the name and address of another contact person? Send a letter with the following:

    • the deceased person’s citizen service number
    • your name and your citizen service number
    • the new contact person’s name and citizen service number
    • the new contact person’s address details

    Have this letter countersigned by the new contact person and send it to:

  • I am the contact person regarding a gift tax return

    And you're moving? Send us a letter with the following:

    • your name and citizen service number
    • your new address

    Would you like to inform us about a new contact person? To do so, please send us a letter, in which you state:

    • your name and your citizen service number
    • the new contact person’s name and citizen service number
    • the new contact person’s address details

  • I am an appointed administrator on behalf of a client under protective guardianship
    Would you like to receive your client’s mail on a different address? Or do you no longer want to receive the mail for this client?

    Please download the Report or change financial guardianship form, fill it in and mail this to beschermingsbewind@belastingdienst.nl. Please enclose a copy of the financial guardianship decision given to you by the district court. 

  • I am an entrepreneur, but not registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce
    Is your organisation relocating? If so, you will have to inform your tax office of the new address yourself.

    The new address must be communicated by letter

    Send a letter with the following:

    • your name and your citizen service number
    • your organisation’s name
    • your organisation’s former address
    • your organisation’s new address

    We will respond within five working days. 

Processing a change of address takes time

In the meantime, mail may still be sent to your former address. You still have to deal with important mail such as bills (and pay them). Therefore, make sure your mail is forwarded or make arrangements with the new resident.
