How to inform us about your change of address?

Usually you don't have to pass this on to us. We will automatically receive your new address if you inform your municipality.

If you move abroad or come to live in the Netherlands, you must also inform the municipality. You do not have to pass anything on to us.

Is your organisation relocating? If so, please inform the Chamber of Commerce.

Sometimes you do have to report a change.

Choose your situation and see how you do it:

  • I want to receive my mail at an address other than my home or business address, or change my postal address to my home or business address

    For both your private and business address, you can pass on a different address to receive our mail: a postal address.

    You can do this using the form Passing on a postal address (Dutch).

    You can only use this form if you live in the Netherlands. Or if your company, foundation or association has its registered office in the Netherlands.

    You may be required to confirm your postal address

    We process your change of address within 5 working days.

    Is your new address a postal address? If so, we may ask you to confirm your postal address. You will receive a letter from us at the home or business address we currently have for you. This way, we know for sure that you are the one who requested the mailing address.

    Do you change your postal address to your residential address or business address? Then we will process your request. You will not receive a letter from us and you do not have to confirm anything.

  • I live outside the Netherlands and I am moving outside the Netherlands

    You do not live in the Netherlands, you are moving and you continue to live outside the Netherlands?

    Do you have a DigiD? If so, you can pass on your change of address outside the Netherlands online via the website Nederland wereldwijd (Netherlands Worldwide).

    Do you not have a DigiD? If so, you can report your change of address using the form Notification change of address outside the Netherlands.

    Fill in the form, print it out, sign it and send it to us. The address is stated on the form.

    As soon as we have received your notification, it will take another 3 weeks to process.

    Do you doubt that you will receive our mail at your new address 3 weeks after reporting the change of address? Then please call the Tax Information Line: +31 555 385 385.

  • I have moved back to the Netherlands and want to change my postal address to my home address

    Would you like our mail to be sent to your Dutch home address?

    If so, you can report this with the form Passing on a postal address (Dutch).

    We will process your change of address within 5 working days.

    Please note!

    Only when you inform us of a different address will the mail be sent to that address.

  • I am the contact person regarding a death

    And are you planning to move?

    Then you only need to inform the municipality of your new address. The municipality will inform us within 5 working days after you have moved.

    Do you want to inform us about a new contact person? Please send a letter

    Please state in your letter:

    • the deceased person’s name and citizen service number
    • your name and citizen service number
    • the new contact person’s name, citizen service number, address and phone number
    • whether the new contact is also an heir

    Have this letter countersigned by the new contact person and send it to:

  • I am the contact person regarding a gift tax return

    And you're moving? Please send us a letter, in which you state:

    • your name and citizen service number
    • your new address

  • I am an appointed administrator on behalf of a client under protective guardianship

    Would you like to receive your client’s mail on a different address?

    Or do you no longer want to receive the mail for this client?

    Please download the Report or change financial guardianship form, fill it in and mail this to beschermingsbewind@belastingdienst.nl.

    Please enclose a copy of the financial guardianship decision given to you by the district court.

  • I am an entrepreneur, but not registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce

    Is your organisation relocating? If so, you will have to inform us of the new address yourself.

    The new address must be communicated by letter

    Please send us a letter, in which you state:

    • your name and your citizen service number (bsn) or legal persons and associations information number (RSIN)
    • your organisation’s name
    • your organisation’s former address
    • your organisation’s new address

  • I am part of a tax entity with other entrepreneurs

    Does the tax entity move? In that case you have to inform your tax office about the new address.

    You can report the new address with a letter

    Please state in your letter:

    • your name, RSIN and/or your VAT identification number
    • the name of the tax entity
    • the old address of the tax entity
    • the new address

    We process your change of address within 5 working days, provided that your request is complete. You will not receive a confirmation.

Processing a change of address takes time

In the meantime, mail may still be sent to your former address. You still have to deal with important mail such as bills (and pay them). Therefore, make sure your mail is forwarded or make arrangements with the new resident.
