When and why did we switch to Rabobank?
On 1 May 2026, the Tax Administration (Belastingdienst) and the Benefits Office (Dienst Toeslagen) switched from ING to Rabobank.
The reason for this is that the payment services used by the Tax Administration and the Benefits Office must be renewed every few years based on European public tendering rules. That is why the Ministry of Finance organised a public tender for the Tax Administration and the Benefits Office.
The result is that Rabobank will handle the payment services for the Tax Administration and the Benefits Office from 1 May 2026.
