Simplifications for various transport methods (by air, rail and sea)

For air, rail and sea, there are one (rail) or two (air and sea) simplified procedures per type of transport within the Union Transit and Common Transit Procedures. For this you must meet general conditions, and you need an authorisation.

The simplifications include:

Authorisation Simplified procedures for rail transport

With this authorisation you can use the CIM Consignment Note as a Transit Declaration. You may also use the CIM Consignment Note for combined transport as a Transit Declaration. This authorisation applies in all Member States.

You apply for the authorisation by submitting the Application Form for the Simplified Procedure Authorisation for transport by rail (only available in Dutch).

Authorisation Simplified procedures for the use of electronic transport document as customs declaration

This authorisation allows you to use an electronic transport document as customs declaration for the following transport:

  • transport by air
  • transport by sea
