With the EORI number Customs identifies economic operators in the same way in all Member States. This yields efficiency benefits for those economic operators and customs alike. (EOR number = Economic Operators Registration and Identification number.)

The European Union centrally registers all EORI numbers in the EORI database for the customs authorities of the various Member States.
