Apply for tax return postponement 2022 – is that still possible?

That depends on when your tax return has to be filed.

Your tax return should be filed before 1 July 2023

You can no longer apply for a postponement. File your tax return as soon as possible.

Your tax return must be filed after 1 July 2023

You can apply for a postponement until the date on which we must receive your tax return. Your tax return letter will state when that is.

The procedure to apply for a postponement is as follows:

  1. Download the 'Aanvraag uitstel aangifte inkomstenbelasting' form (‘Application tax return postponement’ form, only available in Dutch).
  2. Fill in the form on your computer and print it out.
  3. Send the form by mail to the address indicated on the form.

Or call the Tax information line for non-resident tax issues. Please keep your citizen service number ready, because that will speed up the process.

In the case of a payable assessment, you pay interest on tax

If we impose an assessment on you after 1 July 2023, you will pay 6% tax interest on it as of 1 July.
