Apply for tax return postponement 2021 – how to do it?
Whether you can get a postponement, depends on when your tax return has to be filed.
Your tax return should be filed before 1 July 2022
You can then no longer apply for a postponement. File your tax return as soon as possible.
Your tax return must be filed after 1 July 2022
You can apply for a postponement until the date on which we must receive your tax return. Your tax return letter will state when that is.
The procedure to apply for a postponement is as follows:
- Download the ‘Application tax return postponement’ form (only available in Dutch).
- Fill in the form on your computer and print it out.
Then you can be sure that you are passing on all the relevant information to us. - Send the form by mail to the address indicated on the form.

In the case of a payable assessment, you pay interest on tax
If we impose an assessment on you after 1 July 2022, you will pay 4% tax interest on it as of 1 July.
