How high can your income be for healthcare benefit?
You can get healthcare benefit in 2026 if your annual income is not higher than €40,857. In 2025, this was €39,719. If you have a benefit partner in 2026, your combined income may not be higher than €51,142. In 2025, this was €50,206.
If your income is higher, you will not get healthcare benefit.
Which income counts for healthcare benefit?
We check your and your benefit partner’s means-tested income. The means-tested income is roughly your annual gross income, usually slightly higher. For example, holiday pay and child maintenance you receive also count. However, student financing (studiefinanciering) does not.
