I have Dutch health insurance
Do you pay Dutch health insurance premiums or are you registered with the Central Administration Office (Centraal Administratie Kantoor, CAK)? If so, you may get healthcare benefit. This is money from the government to help with the costs of your health insurance.
What are the conditions for healthcare benefit?
These are the conditions for you and your possible benefit partner:
- You are 18 years or older
- You have Dutch health insurance
- Your (joint) income is below the income threshold
- Your (joint) assets (vermogen) are not too high

Are you in the military, detained, a conscientious objector or without a permanent address?
In the following situations, you cannot get healthcare benefit or the rules are different:
- You are in the military
- You are detained
- You are a conscientious objector
- You do not have a fixed address
Do you live, work or study abroad?
In some cases, you may still be able to get healthcare benefit. Read more about this at:

How do you report changes?
Please tell us on time if there are changes in your situation that affect your benefit. This may be the case if, for example, your income changes, or your rent goes up or down. You can read how to do this under I want to submit a change.
